MUSIC'S,
DANCES, DRAMA AND CULTURE WORKSHOP
In Bali, no temple festival or
ceremony is complete without its entertainment for God, attending guesses and
local people.
Temple anniversaries are occasion for all night dramatic and
dance performance, with different types of entertainment on earth. The
local gamelan orchestra provides the basic accompany-men to any such
performances, a group of brass instruments, met allophones, tuned gongs,
cymbals and hand-drums. The villages generally own the instruments, as
they are extremely expensive. They are stored at the village’s meeting
hall (balai banjar). Recently,
Balinese music has been written down or recorded in the tape or video.
Previously, Balinese music has been passed from generation to generation
purely by memory. Each particular dance and dramatic performance has its
own
special combination of instruments to suit Melodious bamboo flutes (suling), reedy two-stringed violins (rebab) and twanging Jew’s harp like (genggong) are all use to provide their own
special effects.
Dance and drama have historically played an important role in
Balinese society. Through this medium, people learned about the tales of
Ramayana, Mahabrata and other epic
stories from Balinese history. The well-known dance-dramas can be seen at
regular performances throughout Bali.
We serve you driving to any culture performance every
day/night.
