Formerly known as Borneo, Kalimantan is the world's second largest island. The North and North-western part of the island are the East Malaysian state of Serawak and Sabah, with the newly independent state of Brunei Darusalam between them.  The rest of the island is part of Indonesia, divided into four provinces - East Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan and South Kalimantan.
Borneo/Kalimantan is the huge adventure travel destination. It is one the world’s third largest island covering the area of 747,000 square kilometer and covered by one of the world’s largest stretches of tropical rain forest through which flows tremendous mighty rivers which are the island’s highway.


Dayak is a collective name for over 200 different tribes living throughout Borneo's interior . They are the true 'people of the jungle'. The Dayak people lives in the hinterland along the banks of major river and in a long house. It is customary for them to live with a whole extended family or with one clan. Each family has their own compartment and the chief of the clan will occupy the central chamber.

 

 


Mahakam River - This giant muddy river is the highway to the interior. The Mahakam divides itself into three geographical sections. The lower Mahakam, stretches from Samarinda to Muara Prahu just beyond Lake Jempang, an easy tour for visitors short on time. The middle Mahakam includes a series of villages and the upper Mahakam, is an isolated region generally reached by plane at the Datah Dawai airfield at Long Lunuk.


Orang Utan is derived from the Indonesian/Malay language means man of the forest. Borneo and Sumatera island are well known with its large rain forest on the equator, Orang Utan of a significant numbers exist on both islands. Travel to Borneo nowadays access available from few points of Indonesia such as Balikpapan, Surabaya and Semarang of Indonesia.

Day 01 : Pangkalanbun - Camp Leaky (D)
Upon arrival at Iskandar Airport of Pangkalanbun, meeting service and transfer to Kumai to board motorboat enjoy the beautiful flora and fauna, like birds, monkeys, gibbons, and other wonderful creatures of Borneo. Overnight at Rimba Lodge

Day 02 : Pondok Tanggui, Camp Leaky - Kumai (BLD)
After breakfast leave the lodge to visit Pondok Tanggui, an Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center up Sekonyer River, then proceed to Camp Leakey, research and rehabilitation center of the Orang Utan. Trekking through the tropical rainforest searching for the wildlife and the exotic tropical flora, afterward return to Kumai for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 03 : Kumai - Palangkaraya (BLD)
After breakfast, drive for Palangkaraya. Meals are provided en-route. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 04 : Palangkaraya - Tumbang Malahoi  (BLD)
After breakfast transfer to Tangkiling harbor to cruise up Rungan river by speedboat for about 5 hours to catch  Tumbang Jutuh village, where we continue drive to Tumbang Malahoi. Meals enroute. Overnight at Longhouse

Day 05 : Tumbang Malahoi  (BLD)
Today we explore the flora and fauna of tropical rainforest and the Dayak culture. meals provided. overnight at local house.

Day 06 : Tumbang Malahoi - Palangkaraya - Banjarmasin (BLD)
After breakfast, transfer to Tumbang Jutuh. visit the traditional mining, of Amethyst as one of the famous Kalimantan grimes stone, continue by speedboat for Tangkiling, then proceed drive to Banjarmasin the capital city of south Kalimantan/Borneo, meals served en-route. Overnight at hotel.

Day 07 : Floating Market  (BLD)
Early in the morning visit the floating market in Kutai village and monkey island on Barito River, watching  Boat Making and Coconut oil home industry, which done in traditional way. Afterward continue to Cempaka village to see the Diamond Mining Field and the traditional diamond workshop in Martapura, then drive to Loksado via Kandangan. Meals provided en-route. Overnight at Muara Hatip in Amandit River Lodge

Day 08 : Bamboo Rafting - Banjarmasin (BLD)
After breakfast, rafting the Amandit river by Bamboo raft while enjoy flora and fauna at both sides of the river early afternoon return to Banjarmasin, meals en-route and overnight at hotel

Day 09 : Banjarmasin - Departure
Breakfast at hotel, free at your leisure. Then transfer to the airport for your onward flight
